‘Sports Nursery’ of our institute
Children are introduced to the institute at a very young age by inducting them to the General Games section. This section is therefore aptly called as the ‘Sports Nursery’ of our institute. Here, they are familiarized with different forms of physical activities, with the aim of developing the liking for outdoor games and learning self-discipline. There is special emphasis on Warming Up exercises, Sooryanamaskar and Yogasanas. The children also get introduced to various exercises that help develop their physique at an early age. Children learn various recreational games, free hand exercises, drills, lazim and dumb-bells etc. The teachers also assess the interests of the children and guide them to the other specialization sports sections for further development.
About 500-600 children of the age of 5 to 12 years are divided into various groups. The girls have the Savitri, Ahilya and Lakshmi groups and the boys have Rayaji, Dhruv and Chilia groups. Classes are conducted between 7 pm and 8 pm. Apart from this, the ‘Prabhat Shakha’ is conducted in the morning between 7 am and 8 am.
